Creative Youth Workshop with Queer Theatre Company, Sweet Beef (ages 16-18)

Join Sweet Beef Theatre Company for a drama and theatre making workshop on queer expression and celebration.

In typical Sweet Beef’s style – they’ll be comedy, devising, and lots of silliness!

The workshop will take you through some movement, drama and writing exercises that were used in the creation of Sweet Beef’s most recent work, ‘Crying Shame’.

This workshop is aimed at young people (16-18) who want to learn more about queerness and community in Croydon.

This will be a welcoming and facilitated safe space for people to express themselves through free writing and speaking exercises. Sweet Beef wants to tackle the themes of community and loneliness which can affect us all and the workshop will conclude with a discussion.

No experience is required, just a sense of curiosity!

Please be aware that registering for this session will require the consent and contact information of a parent or guardian in order to book your place.

The workshop takes place in the Stanley Arts main hall which has step-free access and an accessible toilet nearby.

Sweet Beef are an award winning Queer theatre collective who make work about socio-political issues which affect us, with a heavy dose of comedy, dance and drag. We are Arts Council Funded and Pleasance Associate Artists from 2023-2025.
