Routes to Roots is a creative arts and heritage project that aims to give a platform to Anglo-Indian and South Asian voices.
Do you have memories of the 60s in Croydon?
Did you dance the night away or enjoy bingo nights at Stanley Halls?
In association with Stanley Arts, members of the Anglo-Indian and South Asian community in Croydon will present a collection of stories, memories, songs and short films titled 60s BINGO NIGHT. The performance is the culmination of a series of creative workshops, led by Janet Steel and Rez Kabir, and was presented at Migration Matters festival in June 2023.
Routes to Roots is an arts and heritage project working with communities and arts/cultural partners in Croydon ( including Museum of Croydon), Bradford and Sheffield and is inspired by Maya Productions’ new Anglo-Indian musical in development, Benny and the Greycats.
Celebrating hidden stories and amplifying the diverse voices and artistry within the South Asian Diaspora.
