Magnificent Magic Lanterns

Book Live Tickets

Join children’s book illustrator, Salvatore Rubbino, for this free workshop and make a magnificent magic lantern to entertain all your friends and family! Learn new creative skills and make your pictures move. Celebrate Bonfire Night with fantastic firework drawings and project these onto the wall for your very own ‘film’ screening.

Did you know that William Stanley, the founder of our building and local inventor sold magic lanterns in his catalog!? These told all sorts of stories by drawing onto a film and shining a light through it to create a projection.

Come along and get the chance to tell your own stories or illustrate a well know one!

Materials will be provided and the workshop is free. All you need to bring with you is a small torch or mobile phone with a torch… and lots of imagination!
