Life Through Laundry
What can your laundry tell us about life in South Norwood?
Swap a story about the launderette for a slice of cake. Swap a photo in a shirt-with-a-story for a commemorative tea towel. Or share your thoughts about the future of the high street for a copy of our beautiful upcoming publication that will be looking at life, laundry and living in South Norwood.
Join artist Jessica Scott in the Social Cafe from 12.30-4pm on the 8th of May to talk about lesser told stories of the local community; beginning through the lens of the High Street launderette and spreading through all aspects of local life. Bring conversations, imaginations, memories and hopes for the future; along with precious items of clothing and fabrics to be photographed for our publication.
This Quiet Down There project is part of a range of upcoming cultural activity funded by Historic England through their High Streets Heritage Action Zones Cultural Programme.
