Invention Point: Woodland Crafts

At this workshop, we made winter decorations made out of found items in the local park.

Hosted by local inventor and South Norwood resident Mandy Lawson who runs a company called Enlighted Lampshades which uses local produce to create unique lampshades.

“My first lampshade was inspired from making fairy gardens with my nieces and nephew. Rescuing the pieces months later from the garden I wanted to create a permanent memory and I created my first lampshade. I have since gone on to develop my technique using as much natural and recycled materials as possible.”

This Invention Points was housed at the Clock tower Market on the 13th November, from 10am to 4pm.

Celebrating the spirit of invention of South Norwood this new cultural programme is funded by Historic England High Street Action Zones Programme. Its intention is to support exciting cultural activity and get people to come out and enjoy the High Street.
