Improv comedy taster class

Two hours of cutting loose and saying ‘Yes and…’ in this joyous introduction to comedy improvisation.

If you’ve ever been curious about improvised comedy but weren’t sure how best to begin, then this 2 hour taster session is the perfect place to start.

Experienced comedian and improviser Angus Dunican will be covering the fundamentals of the art form in a relaxed and pressure-free environment. You’ll learn how to build a world from nothing using one word prompts, and the magic that is just listening to each other. We will cover characters, using the space, trusting yourself and (most importantly) how to have fun making stuff up.

No previous experience necessary… as long as you’ve been a human being before. We really think you’ll have a lovely time.

Angus has been a comedian for over 20 years. As an improviser, he has studied with instructors from Chicago’s Second City and Toronto’s Monkey Toast. He has taught on both beginners and advanced improv courses for Monkey Toast’s UK branch. He has provided improv workshops for clients such as Facebook, GSK and The British Naturist Society.

He is the founder of improv troupe Jack Left Town, team-in-residence at the Rosemary Branch Theatre for 6 years, and regularly coaches other troupes.
