Design, build and race your own go cart!

In this free one day workshop you will work in a team to build and decorate a go cart to be raced at the Carnival of Invention this September.

Led by carpenter Oliver Thornton and artist Ella Yarde you will work in teams to build your cart structure and learn some woodworking skills. You will then bring your artistic flair by decorating your cart, inspired by the Carnival’s theme of invention.

What does invention mean to you? Which artists, musicians, designers have inspired you?

Come as a ready made team of 6 or make new friends as we help you find your teammates on the day of the workshop.

For ages 12+.  Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The fun doesn’t end here… This September, the Stanley Arts’ Carnival of Invention will celebrate the everyday inventions and creativity of South Norwood in an all-day takeover of Station Road on Sunday 10th September, click the title to find out more information.

The crowning event of the day will be a go cart race itself on Station Road and we hope all the teams will come and race their carts.  There will be prizes for speed, flair and showmanship, best cart design and most enthusiastic team support.

Please note there will be additional rules and regulations in place for the race to keep everyone safe.  Please contact chrissy.jay@gmail.com for more information.  A full briefing will take place during the workshop.
