Isobella Burnham
Isobella is a Bassist, Vocalist and Composer from London. She grew up in Barbados where she soaked up the rich musical culture. Isobella returned to London in January 2018 and has since played bass with Sinead Harnett, Tom Misch, Steamdown and Sampa The Great. The Rotosound, Boss and Sire artist toured around Asia, Europe and Africa playing festivals and headline shows. She released her debut EP Dancin’ Garuda on 21st May 2021.
Allexa Nava Quartet
Allexa is a young jazz saxophonist and composer, originally from Peru, who was the recipient of the inaugural Tomorrow´s Warriors Alf Williams Memorial Award. As a member of the formidable Tomorrow’s Warriors Female Frontline, she’s been appearing at venues and festivals across the country, gaining attention as one to watch. Tonight, she steps forward as a band leader in her own right, showcasing her compositions and providing a glimpse into her direction of travel as a performing artist.
Line up: Allexa Nava (sax/flute), Amy Gadiaga (bass), Luke Bacchus (piano/keys), plus drums.
Amy Gadiaga Quartet
Amy continues to build her fine reputation as musician, arranger and performer, having appeared with her quartet at the EFG London Jazz Festival in 2020 after a lockdown full of writing music and self-exploration. Connecting old-school jazz singer’s storytelling and modern rhythms inspired by artists such as D’Angelo and The Jacksons, Amy’s band offers energetic performances that celebrate artistry and freedom.
Line up: Amy Gadiaga (bass and vocals), Joseph Oti (trumpet), Sultan Stevenson (keyboard), Louie North (drums).

Gals Fest aims to celebrate emerging female artists in the London jazz scene and beyond, platforming talented artists who are unique and yet underrepresented. Our headliners represent a diverse array of musical influences, and we hope that our audience will constantly be learning something new in listening to them. Women make up only 21.7% of artists, 12.3% of songwriters, and 2.1% of producers in the UK music industry – Gals Fest is here to try and change that.
