Diwali Festival Extravaganza

Celebrate the Festival of Lights with us!

 

Join us for a spectacular Diwali event where the spirit of togetherness and joy comes alive.

This family-friendly celebration promises an unforgettable day filled with live music and vibrant performances, captivating craft and dance workshops, enchanting storytelling sessions, and of course, delicious South Asian food.

The running order of the day:

3pm – 8pm
Lots of crafts and dance activities for children and families, make your own greeting cards with Indian motifs, making of Divya lights and a bead-making workshop!

5pm – 6pm
Three amazing international dance artist local to Croydon, Anusha, Pallavi and Sahana will be accompanied by live orchestra, Prathap, Sambavi and Shashank who will perform classical dance, Bharatanatyam, to specially selected songs for Diwali. Making the event an event to rejoice and bring a sense of auspicious into our lives.

5pm – 7pm
Expect to hear live music that will celebrate the music tradition of South Asia.

6pm – 7pm

Presenting Hindustani music with Jonathan Mayer and fellow artists zerOclassikal is exciting company that present Indian classical artist in new ways.

7-9 pm
We have a special dance group Nital Gandhi dance company that will perform and get everyone dancing!
Dancing to music with  everyone folk and Bollywood with Beeja, Paurnami and Subrang arts community groups. Special songs celebrating joy and light.

Until 9pm
There will be food through out the day available from the well know food Resturant TAVA. The event will finish with everybody dancing together.

Other information: 
We have parking procedure for a small fee of £8 for everyone and is available for attendees on the day. The car park is located next to Stanley Arts, at Harris Academy South Norwood. To get to the entrance, drive to Cumberlow Avenue and enter the school gates at the bottom of the road. Please click here to book a park space.
