New Artist Opportunity – Writing: Redefined

Applications are now closed.

Writing: Redefined is an innovative new writing programme, intended to push the boundaries of writing for performance. Within the walls of our extraordinary venue, Stanley Arts, we will explore playfulness with text and form in a practical setting. For writers, there will be an opportunity to work with actors and directors and create collaboratively with others.

Writers will meet at least once a month in person, as they workshop ideas and skills over the year, they will work toward a public performance of their writing. The performance will have a professional creative team and performers and will be performed around the building of Stanley Arts.

During the programme, there will be opportunities to share work in progress with others and creative offers such as free tickets to shows and one to one mentoring.

Who is this for?

Writers who create artistic work for performance and may have background in other kinds of performance. People who have had some experience writing for performance and want to stretch their devising and writing skills in a practical way.

We are keen to hear from writers who live in and around Croydon.

Do I need to have been a published writer in theatre/performance?

No, but you must have some experience of writing for performance and have had your own words performed on stage.
