Invention Point: Making Mosaics
The Inventing South Norwood Team are back with a brand new Inventor who will be helping you piece together your own mosaic – inspired by the beautiful mosaics from South Norwood.
South Norwood has two very different but equally stunning mosaics. One of them lights up a dark space in the underpass on Portland road and the other sparkles in the sun outside the South Norwood Library.
This month’s inventor will be helping us find out what it takes to make these mosaics. This free workshop will be back in South Norwood’s local Clock Tower market and is led by Kes Young who has been making and creating mosaics since she started her business in 2010. Her expertise is developing creative community workshops in various fields from Arts and Crafts to Gardening. The Invention Point itself will also be a chance for people to come and talk to the Stanley Team about the ‘Inventing South Norwood’ programme. This month’s Clock Tower Market is on the 14th of May from 10am to 4pm.
In Its second year this three-year cultural programme called ‘Inventing South Norwood’ is funded by Historic England High Street Action Zones Programme and focuses on celebrating the spirit of invention of South Norwood.
