What’s On

Kicking off our Autumn season, we’re excited to launch our new exhibition, Framing Croydon: The Buildings that Shape us; a community-based exhibition that explores the buildings and places which the people of Croydon hold dear.

Across the weekend of the looking forward to taking part in Open House Festival 2024 (Sat 14 & Sun 15 Sept) we’re. The historic features of the building are sometimes hidden, other times flaunted. Our tours cover everything past and present about this storied institution. Join us for free, behind the scene tours!

We’re delighted to be joined by The Conquering Heroes & special guest, Tanio’s Pizza for a Ceilidh to remember (Fri 13 Sept) If you’re after something a little more calmer, we also have Comedy on the Menu! Join stand-up comedians Sarah Iles and Diane Spencer for a two-in-one show and expect a night of Funnies, Fudge & Fortune (Fri 6 Sep)! Then, Nice N’ Spiky comedy (Thu 19 Sep), returns after an unforgettable sold out Croydon Comedy Festival earlier this summer.

Also this season, theatre is back at Stanley Arts. Heat the story of Simeon Solomon (Sun 15 & Mon 16 Sep), a Queer Jewish Pre-Raphaelite painter. The play delves into Solomon’s journey of self-discovery, set against the backdrop of a Victorian world characterised by harsh judgment.

As we look to October, we’re counting down to a mighty return of Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet (Fri 11 Oct). We’re joined by two of the UK’s best known and loved singers – Billy Mitchell (Lindisfarne, Jack the Lad, Pitmen Poets) and Bob Fox (Warhorse Songman, Fox and Luckley, Pitmen Poets) as their Tour comes to Stanley Arts  (Wed 16 Oct).
